    5.1 Targeted adaptive research to introduce new TIPOs for agricultural diversification and income generation generated elsewhere from ongoing research, including :

  • Water harvesting to diversify crop production and enhance rangeland productivity
  • Alternative cropping systems, and / or alternative crops and wild species with economic value
  • Improving livestock health and productivity and adding value to livestock products
  • 5.2 Investigate and identify marketing niches and opportunities for expanding income generating options

    5.3 Identify market constraints

    5.4 Investigate and promote new institutional options to support diversification and income generation (community enterprises, private sector linkages, credit, etc)

  • Available TIPOs adapted and tested with targeted communities
