Given the scale and regional nature of the programme, it is intended to seek support from a consortium of donors. The indicative budget for a three year programme is given in Table 1 below.

The total cost of the three year programme is US$ 8.46 million. The proposed contribution from IFAD is US$
1.5 million. ICARDA and IFPRI will provide in-kind support of US$ 0.99 million in personnel and logistic and administrative support. The eight national programs will provide combined in-kind support of US$ 3.5 million in personnel, research facilities and support. This is based on the estimated actual in-kind contribution by NARS to the Mashreq / Maghreb Project. ICARDA will seek co-financing from other donors including the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and specific funding for developing and documenting the community approach. |
