The leadership, planning and implementation of the programme activities are the responsibility of the national programs. ICARDA provides technical assistance and training where needed and facilitates regional coordination of the programme. IFPRI provides technical support to research on policy and property rights. Each country shall organize a workshop to present and discuss the proposed programme activities with all stakeholders (including community members and policy makers) and develop a detailed work plan.

A Programme Steering Committee will be formed. Each country will designate a "National Coordinator". These National Coordinators, ICARDA's Regional Coordinator and the ADG of International Cooperation, an IFPRI representative, and donor representatives constitute the members of the Steering Committee. The Committee meets once a year to review, amend and approve annual work plans and budgets.
A "Regional Research Coordination and Planning Meeting" will be held annually at alternating country locations in which representatives of all institutions collaborating in the programme will review the results of the past work and finalize plans for the coming season. |
